AAU Sacks Four Lecturers For Gross Misconduct
The management of Edo State-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has approved the dismissal of four lecturers in the institution over alleged misconduct
Their dismissal was approved at the emergency meeting of the Special Intervention Team (SIT), held on Wednesday 1 December 2021, where the report of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee (SSDC) on the allegations against the four sacked lecturers was considered.
They were dismissed from the service of the University for alleged illegal collections of unauthorised fees, alterations of students results and other gross misconducts.
Those involved are as follows: Barr. Patrick Ikechuckwu Iweoha (Faculty of Law), Engr. Dr Lawrence Imaekhai (Faculty of Engineering & Technology), Engr. Dr Sumaila Jimoh (Faculty of Engineering & Technology), Engr. Haruna Andrew Idoko (Technologist, Faculty of Engineering & Technology).
Accordingly, the above staff have been dismissed for gross misconduct with effect from Wednesday 1st December 2021,” the report said.
Confirming the dismissal of the lecturers to newsmen, AAU’s Public Relations Officer/Acting Registrar, Edward Aihevba, said: “Yes, the four lecturers were dismissed for gross misconduct.”
None of the affected lecturers could be reached for a reaction on the allegation.
