The Guards Brigade has confirmed reports that its men were ambushed by terrorists, who inflicted serious injuries on the elite security officers. Signal on the attack hints that the Nigerian Law School in Bwari may have been the target of the attack.
The attack was confirmed by the spokesperson, Captain Godfrey Anebi but he declined further comments.
The primary duty of the Guards Brigade is to provide security for the country’s Federal Capital Territory, Abuja especially the Presidential Villa.
The report says that the troops were ambushed along Bwari-Kubwa Road while on routine patrol when they were attacked.
The report further states that the ambush was forcefully repelled by the Guards Brigade troops who restored sanity to the area immediately.
It was also gathered that the wounded soldiers were immediately evacuated to the Military Hospital for immediate medical attention.
This is coming barely 24 hours after terrorists named President Muhammadu Buhari, Kaduna Governor Nasir Rufai and other government officials as their next targets.
