The Senior Magistrate Court sitting at Uke, in Karu Local Goverment area of Nasarawa state has issued a bench warrant for the arrest and remand of the State Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Idris Mohammed at the Correctional Centre, Keffi over his failure to appear in Court where he is standing trial for criminal conspiracy, trespass and mischief in a suit filed by one Engineer Idris Aliyu Bori and one other.
The Commissioner is accused alongside five others of trespassing into the land of the complainants, causing mischief and intimidating them.
Following the absence of the Commissioner in Court, counsel for the complainant, Eunice Emmanuel Esq, pleaded that the bail earlier granted to him be revoked and an arrest warrant be issued against him as well as a criminal summons to the surety to show cause why he should not forfeit the bail bond.
The presiding Magistrate Aisha Abdullahi in her ruling granted the request of the complainants’ counsel and ordered for the immediate arrest of the Commissioner.
The case was adjourned to November 19, 2022.
