Dino Melaye Emerges PDP governorship candidate in Kogi

Senator Dino Melaye has emerged as the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in Kogi state.

Melaye was declared the winner after he secured 313 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Idoko Ilonah, who got 124 votes.

Former governor of Kaduna and chairman of the PDP’s electoral committee for Kogi governorship primary, Ahmed Makarfi, announced the result on Sunday.

Melaye will face the former Auditor-General for Local Governments in Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, who is the APC candidate in the November 11, 2023 governorship election.
