RCCG Pastor Arraigned for Allegedly Raping Daughter
A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Emmanuel Orekoya, was charged with sexual offenses and domestic violence on Tuesday at the Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court.
He is accused of raping and impregnating his 17-year-old daughter.
The Lagos State Government has proposed two counts of illicit sexual intercourse and sexual assault against the defendant.
Moreover, it was learned that the defendant allegedly impregnated his daughter while they were having sex.
Mrs. Abimbola Abolade, the state’s prosecutor, informed the court that the defendant had committed the offenses at some point in 2017 in the state’s Odoeran, Itire region on Jacob Adeleye Street.
The prosecution testified in court that Orekoya had sexually abused the woman by sticking his finger and penis inside her mouth.
The prosecutor said that Orekoya’s offenses violated Section 137 of Lagos State’s 2015 criminal code.
Nonetheless, the accused entered a not guilty plea to the accusations made against him.
