RE: LAWPAVILION ONE-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION – BEYOND COVID-19 PANDEMIC RELIEF FOR YOUNG LAWYERS
The Governing Council of the NBA Young Lawyers Forum (“YLF”) hereby expresses its appreciation to the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (“NBA”), Mr. Paul Usoro, SAN for the provision of LawPavilion Electronic Law Reports and Legal Research Software Licenses to Young Lawyers; an unprecedented initiative which is certain to enhance the capacity of all Young Lawyers to work more efficiently regardless of their areas of practice.
The YLF considers the above-stated initiative, in addition to the highly commendable efforts of the NBA Welfare Committee, led by Dr. Olawale Babalakin, SAN, to provide succour to Young Lawyers and other vulnerable members of the NBA affected by the impact of the Covid- 19 pandemic, as a reflection of the true commitment of the present leadership of the NBA, to the welfare and professional development of Young Lawyers.
The YLF notes that all prospective beneficiaries are required to create a personalized portal on the NBA website where same had not been previously created. In this regard, the YLF enjoins all Young Lawyers to follow the guide provided below:
Eligibility:
All persons called to the Nigerian Bar within the years indicated in the table below and who paid the applicable Bar Practice Fees (“BPF”) in full as of 31 March 2020 are eligible and will benefit from the initiative.

Verification
All eligible beneficiaries are required to maintain an active portal on the NBA website.
- For lawyers who have not previously been verified:
- Click on the Get Verified Option and do the following:
- Enter your email address correctly and complete the verification form;
- Upload a soft copy of your call to bar certificate;
- Patiently wait for a confirmation email from the NBA, which will contain your Supreme court enrolment number and a temporary password (that you can always change at your convenience).
- Upon receiving a confirmation email from the NBA indicating that you have been successfully verified, do the following:
- Go back to the NBA Membership Portal page;
- Copy your enrolment number and password from the confirmation email and enter same on the portal as login details to avoid errors;
- Ensure you type both the alphabets and figures of your Supreme Court Number together without space (E.G.: SCN111111).
- For lawyers who have previously been verified but unable to login:
- Visit https://nigerianbar.org.ng/membership-portal
- Click Forgot Password
- Enter Your Supreme Court Number and follow the instructions.
All lawyers who paid their BPF in full as indicated above but are unable to find their names on the portal may kindly send an email attaching evidence of payment to the YLF Liaison Officer, Damilare Ojo: damilare.ojo@nigerianbar.org.ng and copy the YLF Chairman, Tobi Adebowale: tobiadebowale@nigerianbar.ng.

For the avoidance of doubt, this initiative is without prejudice to the palliative measures being coordinated by the NBA Welfare Committee, whose ongoing efforts are worthy of commendation by all lawyers.
The YLF will continue to liaise with the Law Pavilion team and the NBA Secretariat to address all relevant concerns and ensure the successful implementation of the initiative.
