The All Progressive Congress, APC, National Working Committee led by former Oyo Governor and Deputy National Chairman (South) Abiola Ajimobi has taken over the party’s national secretariat as acting chairman.
National Vice Chairman (South-South), Hilliard Eta, disclosed to the media about the decision taken by the NWC shortly after the appointment of Senator Abiola Ajimobi as Acting National Chairman, announced the reversal of the cancellation of the screening of the governorship aspirants in Edo State.
The NWC of the All Progressive Congress has announced a seven member election committee to conduct the June 22 Edo State APC Governorship primary.
The Ajimobi led APC faction has subsequently appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as the chairman, while Senator Ajibola Basiru, was named secretary for it’s Edo State governorship primary election.
According to Eta, Giadom lacked the grounds on which to take such a decision because he ceased to be a member of the NWC since he resigned his position to contest an election as Deputy Governor of Rivers State.
