Ensuring Quality Healthcare: NBA Introduces Enhanced NHIA Premium Package

I hope this message finds you in good spirits. In light of the prevailing economic challenges facing our country, I must inform you that the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) premium has been revised from N15,000 to N22,000 per subscriber annually.
While we sincerely wish this adjustment were avoidable, it has become necessary to sustain the quality and continuity of services available to our members. We are committed to providing exemplary service and ensuring that every naira you invest in your health delivers true value.
We appreciate your understanding as we outline what the N22,000 premium entails for you, your loved ones, family, colleagues, and friends:
The Benefit Package for the Programme offers comprehensive healthcare coverage across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. It includes outpatient care, immunisation, treatment for common illnesses, and minor surgical procedures at the primary level. Secondary care addresses more specialised treatments, such as complex surgeries, paediatric and obstetric care, and HIV/AIDS management.
Tertiary care focuses on advanced medical conditions and procedures not handled at lower levels. The package covers consultations, diagnostics, hospital admissions, surgeries, paediatric care, maternity care, optical services, ENT, mental health support, Obstetrics and Gynaecological care, family planning, dental care, and radiology. It ensures access to affordable, quality healthcare, including preventative, diagnostic, and emergency services for enrollees, enhancing overall well-being.
At the Tertiary tier of coverage, enrollees can access the under-listed at 50%:
– 4 Chemotherapy Sessions
– 6 Dialysis Sessions
– Endoscopy
– High Technology Investigations e.g CT Scan and MRI
Surgical procedures at just 10% of the original cost. For instance, if your spouse requires a Caesarean Section costing N500,000, you would only need to pay N50,000 under this scheme. It also covers Myomectomy (removal of fibroid), Hysterectomy (removal of the womb), and thyroidectomy (removal) amongst other complex surgeries at 10%.
