“AKPATA HAS A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF STELLAR PERFORMANCE”- EMEKA OZOANI, SAN OF NBA IKEJA GIVES ROARING SUPPORT FOR AKPATA’S CANDIDACY
The principal counsel in the law firm of Emeka Ozoani & Co, and a leading member of the Ikeja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Emeka Ozoani, SAN has thrown his weight behind the candidacy of Olumide Akpata for the office of President of the NBA at the forthcoming national election of the Association scheduled for 29-30 July 2020.Olumide Akpata, who is a past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), is one the three candidates who was given final clearance by the ECNBA to contest the 2020 election and is generally regarded the candidate to beat, despite being the youngest of the candidates and the only non-Senior Advocate in the race.
Mr. Ozoani, SAN, who is well known in the Ikeja Bar for his philanthropy and contributions towards alleviating the hardship faced by members of the profession especially young lawyers, expressed his support for Olumide Akpata who he described as, “a quintessential bar man with a proven track record of stellar performance in different capacities which he has found himself, a dedicated and hard-working lawyer who attacks all his tasks with a hands-on and result-oriented approach, and a very warm person who relates freely and comfortably with all demographics of the profession.”
According to him, “at a time when the rest of the society yearns for quality leadership from the profession while the legal profession in Nigeria is facing a crisis of confidence, Olumide Akpata is a bridge candidate that can unite the different generations in the profession and bring about an all-inclusive bar. The 2020 election is not a time for sentiments but presents an epoch-defining opportunity which the Association and the profession in general can ill-afford to waste.” He therefore declared his unalloyed support for Olumide Akpata at the forthcoming election while wishing him a transformational tenure when he emerges victorious.
