The 2nd Adavize Alao Symposium on Privacy and Data Protection is set to hold on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 10am. The event is themed, “The Future of African Trade and Cross-Border Transfer of Data.”
The symposium will be held online via Zoom and is supported by Duale Ovia & Alex-Adedipe (DOA), Tech Hive Advisory and Olumide Babalola Legal Practitioners.

During the symposium, there will be a presentation of winners of the Annual Adavize Alao Essay Competition on Privacy and Data Protection.
ROTIMI OWOLABI from Obafemi Awolowo University was earlier announced as the winner of the Law Students Category of the Essay Competition with a ₦100,000 cash prize, while ASUQUO, MKPOIKANA JOSEPH won the Young Lawyers category with a cash prize of ₦200,000.
The first edition of the Adavize Alao Symposium on Privacy and Data Protection was held in Lagos in November 2019 and similarly featured the presentation of prizes to the inaugural winners of the Adavize Alao Essay Competition on Privacy and Data Protection: Victoria Oloni (Law Students category) and Agih Sylvester Isaac (Young Lawyers’ category).
