Q: What is the NBA-YLF Arbitration Challenge all about?
A: The Arbitration Challenge, which is the first of its kind competition in Nigeria, aimed at stimulating the practice of international commercial dispute resolution mechanisms among young lawyers, with a focus on the role of legal practitioners in attracting and promoting foreign investments in Nigeria. The goal is to deepen the interest and skill set of young lawyers in arbitration as a mechanism for investment and commercial
dispute resolution.
Q: Who is eligible to participate?
A: The Arbitration Challenge is open to all branches of the NBA to present and register a team of not more than five (5) young lawyers (of 1 – 7 years’ post-qualification experience).
Q: Can I register my team independent of my NBA branch’s selection?
A: No. Participating teams are to be composed and coordinated by the YLF within each NBA branch. Please contact the YLF executives within your NBA branch if you are interested in joining the team representing your NBA Branch.
Q: How many teams can represent an NBA branch?
A: | We expect each NBA branch to be represented by just ONE team comprising not more than (5) young lawyers. |
Q: My NBA branch does not have a YLF branch. What should I do?
A: Contact the Chairman of your NBA Branch. The team members in such a branch may be constituted by the Chairman and members of the executive, and the team list will then be submitted in the Challenge.
