The Lawyard Dialogue Series is designed to examine the legal and policy considerations for Nigeria and other African countries to help them deal with the effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic. It would be hosted as webinars on the Zoom teleconferencing platform and livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube.
The first edition of the series titled ‘Mapping Africa’s Road to Prosperity’ will feature:
- A comparative review of national and subnational government policies in response to the effect of the pandemic on businesses of various sizes;
- a projection of new policy measures that may be considered in response to the pandemic; and
- an analysis of opportunities that may have or will become available to entrepreneurs, investors, and lawyers by virtue of government policy response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The session is conceived to help lawyers and the general public gain more insight into the relevant legal and policy measures in place or recommended to address the impact of Covid-19 on the economy, businesses, and investment in Nigeria and Africa.
The lineup of panelists include seasoned professionals with profound knowledge and experience in their various fields:
- EMEKA OFFOR – Director of Strategic Communications, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission;
- OLUWATOSIN OJO – Managing Partner, Verboheit Consulting;
- IBRAHIM ABDULLAHI – Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State Governor on Economy;
- ADETOLA ONAYEMI – Head, Trade Remedies & Assistant Chief Negotiator at the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN);
