The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) on Thursday announced that its 17th annual business law conference will hold from Wednesday, July 5 to Friday, July 7, 2023.
The NBA-SBL in a statement signed by Dayo Adu, Chairman of its Media & Publicity Committee, declared the theme for the 2023 edition of its annual business law conference as, “The Nigerian Business Landscape: Priorities for Law, Policy and Regulation”.
Adu noted that the NBA-SBL has since its inception in 2004 provided a veritable point of convergence for “decision-makers in both the public and private sectors, policy formulators, regulators and industry practitioners” to formulate practicable solutions to the various challenges affecting businesses in Nigeria. He added that the NBA-SBL currently led by Dr. Adeoye Adefulu, Managing Partner at Odujinrin and Adefulu, has various committees structured along the lines of various sectors of the economy to cover existing and new areas of commercial law practice in Nigeria.
With respect to the composition of the planning committee for the 2023 annual business law conference, Adu revealed that the NBA-SBL had appointed Ayoyinka Olajide-Awosedo, Partner at Aarndale Solicitors and Ose Okpeku, Partner at The Law Crest LLP as Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively for the 2023 Conference Planning Committee.
Olajide-Awosedo is a member of the Executive Committee of the NBA-SBL while Okpeku heads the Employment and Industrial Relations Committee of the NBA-SBL. Given their experience and demonstrated commitment to the NBA-SBL, the appointment of the duo signals the intention of the NBA-SBL to deliver a world-class conference.
“This year’s conference promises to be an unforgettable event, offering participants the unique opportunity to learn from industry experts, network with fellow professionals, and gain valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in business law,” Adu added.
Registration details as well as information about speakers and sessions at the conference will be released in due course just as members of the legal profession and other interested stakeholders are enjoined to take note of the conference dates and prepare to attend.
