Anthony Nwaochei Celebrates Tobenna Erojikwe’s Passion and Integrity on His Birthday
On the occasion of his birthday, Tobenna Erojikwe, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education (NBA-ICLE), has been warmly celebrated by his friend and business partner, Tony Nwaochei, for his exceptional qualities and invaluable contributions to the Nigerian legal profession.
In a heartfelt message, Nwaochei paid glowing tribute to Erojikwe’s inspiring passion, integrity, and selfless dedication to uplifting the legal community over their nearly 25 years of friendship, family ties, and professional collaboration.
Nwaochei lauded Erojikwe’s infectious passion for doing what is right, his relentless desire to help others reach their full potential, and his willingness to sacrifice personal well-being and resources for the greater good of the legal fraternity.
“I have watched you sacrifice your personal well-being and resources over and over because of your passion to see others do well and to do what is right,” Nwaochei wrote, expressing that he has come to accept and admire Erojikwe’s calling.
Tracing the roots of Erojikwe’s active involvement in the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nwaochei recounted how, upon returning to Nigeria from England nearly a decade ago, his friend expressed surprise at the apparent lack of effort by successful practitioners and large firms to uplift their colleagues. This observation inspired Erojikwe to spearhead their firm’s increased participation in branch activities, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship initiatives for young lawyers.
Nwaochei also highlighted Erojikwe’s pivotal role in supporting the successful tenure of Olumide Akpata as NBA President, which was widely regarded as one of the most impactful administrations in recent history, through his invaluable ideas, time, and counsel.
While acknowledging the occasional criticism and accusations faced by Erojikwe, Nwaochei attributed the admiration and disdain to his friend’s unwavering loyalty, outstanding intellect, passion for justice, and commitment to bringing out the best in others—qualities that serve as a reminder of some of their untapped potential.
“Most who know you love you for your loyalty, outstanding intellect, unbridled passion, and desire to stand for what is right and to bring out the best in others; conversely, those who do not are largely those to whom these attributes that you naturally exude are a constant reminder of the better persons that they can and should be,” Nwaochei wrote.
In conclusion, Nwaochei wished Erojikwe the strength and resources to continue his noble work of uplifting the legal community, expressing his confidence in Erojikwe’s ability to “finish strong” under God’s protection and guidance.
