BREAKING: Governor Akeredolu Dies After Prolonged Illness
Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, has reportedly passed on after a prolong illness that has kept him out of office for a while.
Akeredolu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), reportedly died in Lagos on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
He was said to be receiving treatment from State House Doctors following the inability to transport him out of the country for treatment for Leukemia.
He was 67 years old.
Though, no official statement had been issued by Government, sources confirmed that Akeredolu was being managed by State House doctors up to his death as they could not fly him abroad due to his condition.
The ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany and only recently proceeded on another leave early in Decemeber.
He handed over to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
