I am pleased to convey the decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) regarding the forthcoming Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference (NBA-AGC) 2024, which is scheduled to take place in Lagos State.
In pursuit of ensuring another historic NBA-AGC 2024, following the resounding success of AGC 2023, the President of the NBA, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, has appointed Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya as the Chairperson of the Annual General Conference Planning Committee 2024 (AGCPC). Mrs Okusanya served as the alternate chairperson for the AGCPC 2023.
Other members are:
Amina Sulieman Kaoje – Alternate chairperson
Laura Alakija – Secretary
Chika Eucharia Okorie – Assistant Secretary
Other members will be announced later, whilst the committee reserves the power to co-opt members as they deem necessary.
In the same vein, the President has also constituted the NBA NATIONAL REMUNERATION COMMITTEE as follows:
1. Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN – Chairman
2. Aminu Sani Gadanya, mni – Alternate Chairman
3. Foluke Akinmoladun – Secretary
4. Florence Marcus – Assistant Secretary
5. Professor Agbo Johnson Madaki – Member
6. Adama Mohammed – Member
7. Cordelia Uwuma Eke – Member
8. Damian Nosike – Member
9. Abdulwasiu Alfa – Member
10. Barbara Omosun – Member
11. Augustine Nwabueze Eseagwu – Member
It will be recalled that at the National Executive Council Meeting of the NBA held on December 7, 2023, the NBA Renumeration Implementation Committee made recommendations, inter alia, for the establishment of the NBA Renumeration Committee referred to in paragraphs 10, 11, and 12 of the Legal Practitioners Renumeration (for Business, Legal Service, and Representation) Order, 2023.
