The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lugbe Judicial Division, has dismissed the suit filed by Tobenna Erojikwe challenging the outcome of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Presidential election. The election saw Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, emerge as NBA President after a landslide victory at the polls.

Mr. Erojikwe had filed the suit against the Incorporated Trustees of the NBA and two others, seeking to contest his defeat at the NBA elections. However, in a judgment delivered today, the court dismissed the preliminary objection (P.O.) filed by the 1st Defendant but upheld the preliminary objections filed by the 2nd and 3rd Defendants.

The court subsequently proceeded to deliver judgment on the substantive suit, resolving all issues against Mr. Erojikwe. As a result, all the reliefs sought by him in the Originating Summons were refused, and the suit was dismissed in its entirety.

Additionally, the court awarded costs of N200,000 in favor of the 1st and 2nd Defendants.
