An Uxbridges Magistrate Court in the United Kingdom has ruled that David Nwamini Ukpo, the alleged kidney donor for the daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, is not 15 years old.
Reports indicate that Ukpo has admitted to the court that he is 21 years old and had been in the UK since February but only presented himself to the police in May.
The court thereafter fixed August 4 as the date for the next hearing. The court also ruled that the case will not be transferred to Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, have pleaded not guilty to the charges of human trafficking and organ harvesting in the United Kingdom.
The duo were arrested by the British police on June 23 on allegations of human trafficking and organ harvesting that violate the country’s Modern Slavery Act.
The trial of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife has been adjourned to August 4 and transferred to Central Criminal Court for the next hearing.
