Judges of the Federal High Court of Nigeria will begin their 2024 Christmas vacation on Monday, December 16, and return to work on January 6, 2025. Regular court sittings will resume across all divisions on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. This vacation is in accordance with Order 46, Rule 4(C) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019, as amended.
Throughout the holiday period, key judicial divisions in Abuja, Lagos, and Port-Harcourt will remain open to handle urgent cases. During this time, vacation judges will address specific matters, including fundamental rights cases, maritime issues involving vessel arrest or release, and cases of critical national interest.
Assigned vacation judges include Justices Emeka Nwite and M. S. Liman in Abuja, Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac Dipeolu in Lagos, and Justices P. M. Ayua and A. T. Mohammed in Port-Harcourt.
