Former Imo Governor Okorocha Arrested
Imo State former governor, Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrested him at about 4 pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Okorocha was arrested at his private office at Unity House, Abuja.
The EFCC operatives trailed the former governor to his private office and arrested him after a stand-off that lasted five hours. The EFCC had invited the former governor to its headquarters in Abuja on multiple occasions to answer questions in connection with several corruption allegations against him. However, he failed to honour these invitations.
Sources say Okorocha remains in EFCC custody and it remains unclear if he would be allowed to go home today.
