Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, picked the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the forthcoming governorship election in the state slated for November 11.
Diri, who was the sole aspirant, polled a total of 305 yes votes from the delegates to emerge as the party candidate.
Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke presided over the exercise urged the people of the state to rally round the party during the forthcoming governorship poll.
Similarly, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has emerged as the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State for the November 11 Governorship election.
Senator Anyanwu is PDP’s National Secretary, he emerged after winning the Party’s Governorship Primary conducted on Wednesday at the PDP secretariat in Owerri, Imo State.
The Imo State PDP Organising Secretary, Lawrence Biado said a seven-man electoral panel formed by the party’s National Working Committee, NWC headed by Kenneth Okon monitored the exercise.
