The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, has called on Nigerians to pray fervently for an end to the killings of innocent citizens in the country. She made the plea during a condolence visit to the residence of Justice Jummai Sankey, whose husband, Dr. Yakubu Sankey, was assassinated by suspected terrorists in Southern Kaduna.
Justice Dongban-Mensem described Dr. Sankey’s death as a significant loss and urged the family to accept it as the will of God. She emphasized the need to pray for strength for the grieving family and for an end to the senseless loss of lives.
The Court of Appeal President conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) to the family.
Dr. Babangida Sankey, the deceased’s son, expressed gratitude for the support and love shown by the Court of Appeal family, hoping that the judiciary would remain impartial in these challenging times.
