Former President Goodluck Jonathan has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for choosing completion of projects from previous administration as a policy, saying it was the way to go.
Jonathan, who gave the commendation after meeting with President Buhari in the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, also said his relationship with his successor had been cordial.
When asked about his relationship with the President, Jonathan said, “You have been seeing me coming to see the President and you have been seeing us having friendly conversation. So, our relationship is okay. “
The former President described the naming of Warri-Itakpe rail station after him as a good gesture by the President.
Jonathan said, “Let me use this opportunity to commend Mr President publicly. I’ve already sent a letter to appreciating. It’s a good gesture.
“And completing the railway programme is good. It shows that the President is doing, is going on with the legacy projects of the previous administration. That is the way to go.
“I sent a letter to him. I commended him verbally too but you are asking me now. Let me also do it publicly.
“I appreciate it, I thank Mr President, the Minister of Transportation and others that made it possible. “
