NBA IJEBU ODE BRANCH INAUGURATES COMMITTEE ON NCDC GUIDELINES COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT

The Nigerian Bar Association, Ijebu Ode Branch under the chairmanship of BISI ABDULAZEEZ ESQ. has set up a committee known as “NBA(IJEBU ODE BRANCH ) COMMITTEE ON NCDC GUIDELINES COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT” in a bid to complement the efforts of the government in combating the further spread of coronavirus disease ravaging the country. The above committee was set up during the executive meeting held on 16th day of July, 2020.
The said committee is headed by Akindeinde Azeez Oyebola Esq. who is also the welfare officer of the branch, other members of the committee are:

1. Olufadeji Ayodeji feyi Esq.
2. Ogundile Abiola Adebowale Esq.
3. Adepitan Olaniyi Elsie O. Esq.
4. Ajiboye Temitope Olabisi Esq.
   The above committee members who are men of proven integrity are saddled with the following duties
   (A) To ensure that no Lawyer, litigant etc gain entrance to the court premises without using face mask or face shield.
   (B) To ensure that no Lawyer, litigant etc gain entrance to the courtroom without washing his/her hand with soap and water provided by the court.
   (C) To ensure that the sitting arrangements in courts are in line with social and physical distancing regulations as stated by government.
   (D)To ensure that NCDC regulations on Covid 19 are strictly obeyed at all meetings/ gatherings of NBA .
   (E) And any other or further functions as may be necessary.
   On the same breath, the branch also set up Human Rights Committee headed by the vice-chairman of the branch Basorun Suraaj Oluwaseun Esq., having the following individuals as members of the committee.
   (1) Daud O. Odunsi Esq.
   (2) Adeeko Oluwakemi Tosin Esq.
   (3) Moruff O. Balogun Esq.
   (4) Akindeinde Azeez Oyebola Esq.
   The inauguration of the Human Right Committee is in line with the provisions of Section 10(6) of the NBA Uniform Bye – Law for Branches.
   The chairman urged the members of the two committees above to see their appointments as call for service, and equally promised the committees all necessary supports needed to discharge their functions.
