The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), led by President Yakubu Maikyau, paid a condolence visit to the family home of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Ibadan.
Akeredolu, who served as both Ondo State governor and NBA President, passed away on December 27, 2023, following a battle with prostate cancer.
Maikyau, joined by NBA officials including General Secretary Adesina Adegbite, 3rd Vice President Amanda Demechi-Asagba, Welfare Secretary Chinyere Obasi, and representatives from the Ibadan, Ikeja, Lagos, and Ikorodu branches, offered condolences to the bereaved Akeredolu family.
The NBA president, in his tribute, said Governor Akeredolu was “one of the most influential and courageous presidents ever to lead the NBA.”
“Governor Akeredolu’s legacy in advancing the cause of justice and human rights remains an inspiration for us all. His tireless dedication has left an indelible mark on the legal fraternity.
“We stand united in paying homage to a remarkable leader whose commitment to the rule of law will be remembered as a cornerstone of his impactful tenure,” he said.
