NBA President Inaugurates the NBA-SARC
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN has inaugurated the NBA – Securities Agencies Relations Committee (NBA-SARC).
The NBA-SARC was set up to work with all security agencies across the country to end the surge in cases of maltreatment of legal practitioners by security operatives whilst discharging their official duties to their clients.
During the inauguration, the president thanked members of the Committee for accepting to serve the Bar and charged them to deliver on the committee’s mandate as captured in the TOR.
The Committee Chairman Mr. chuka Ikuazom, SAN in response, thanked the President for considering him and other members of the Committee worthy to serve . He reiterated the committees readiness to work and assured the President that the Committee will do it’s best to deliver.
The Committee also had its inaugural meeting where it streamlined its approach towards achieving it’s objectives.
The Committee will in days from now rollout numbers that lawyers could call to register their complaint in the event of any issue between lawyers and security agencies.
The Committee also set up sub committees that will help drive it’s programmes.
