The incumbent governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has clinched the ticket of the All Progressive Congress, APC, for the October 10 governorship election in the state.
Akeredolu won in all the local government areas of the state, defecting seven other aspirants at the indirect primary election which took place at Dove Centre in Akure.
According to Alex Kalejaiye, spokesman of the APC in Ondo, 3146 delegates drawn from the 203 wards across the state were eligible for the primary.
In the result, Akeredolu polled 2,458 votes, while Olusola Oke came second, having scored 262 votes. Isaac Kekemeke came third after polling 19 votes.
The aspirants who partook in the election aside Akeredolu are Awodeyi Akinsehinwa, Bukola Adefula, Sola Iji, Olusola One, Jumoke Anifowoshe, Olajide Adelami and Kekemeke Isaac.
