The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Sues The Attorney General Of The Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN Over Purported Amendment Of The Rules Of Professional Conduct, 2007.
The Nigerian Bar Association(NBA) has instituted an action in the Federal High Court against the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) – Mr. Abubakar Malami SAN, over the purported amendment of the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners, 2007 (RPC).
It will be recalled that sometime in September 2020, it was reported that the RPC had been amended by the AGF. At the time of the purported amendment, the NBA took issue with the situation on the ground that the Attorney General could not, on his own, purport to amend the the RPC as it was not within his gift to do so but rather the responsibility of the General Council of the Bar.
