President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has written to the Nigeria Senate seeking its support on the deployment of military personnel to Niger Republic, following a coup that toppled Niger’s democratically elected president, Mohamed Bazoum.
The president also sought the backing of the legislature on the cutting off of electricity to the country.
Tinubu, Nigeria’s president and the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, had on Sunday met with fellow ECOWAS leaders to discuss appropriate ways to restore democracy in Niger.
