Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday saved the former acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, from police seige laid on her residence in Port Harcourt.
In a video that surfaced online, the convoy of the governor was seen at the entrance of Nunieh’s house in Port Harcourt.
Governor Wike had moved Nunieh out of her residence at Herbert Macaulay Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt to Government House.
Before the seige, Rivers State Government had on Tuesday said it would not allow any harm befall Nunieh with regards to the ongoing probe of the NDDC.
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio and Nunieh have been embroiled in war of words over allegations of corruption in NDDC.
The former MD of NDDC had accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, budget paddling, fraud, among others, which the Minister has denied.
