The Murder of Omo Iyioha Osobase is Regrettable – Olumide Akpata Mourns
Senior Partner at Templars and immediate past Chairman of the Section of Business Law of the Nigerian Bar Association has joined in expressing grief over the murder of Omo Iyioha Osobase, who was recently abducted and murdered around Benin, Edo State.
Speaking on the issue last night, he said “I am deeply pained by the news of the gruesome death of, Omo Iyioha Osobase, a very promising young lawyer and a loyal member of the Benin Branch of the NBA. When the news of his abduction was initially announced, we all prayed for his quick release and for the arrest of his abductors. It is painful and unfortunate that he did not come out of that episode alive”
Continuing, Akpata said “Omo Osobase was a promising young lawyer who strived to make the Lion Bar and the legal profession better through his contributions. Many of his colleagues spoke highly about him and I am sure that would be sorely missed. Incidents such as the unfortunate abduction and murder of Omo Osonase have become rife in recent times and I call on the authorities to ensure that justice is not only served, but that an end is put to ugly incidents like this.
My heartfelt condolences go to the family, friends, colleagues and loved ones of the deceased and I pray that the Almighty God will grant them the fortitude to hear this loss, and also grant repose to the soul of Omo Osobase”
